Indian Aloo Pilaf

About the Recipe

Ingredients

·       1 Yes! Indian rice cooker recipe base

·       2 cups basmati rice (rinsed)

·       2 medium potatoes, peeled & diced

·       1 can (400g) kidney beans, drained & rinsed

·       1 cup garden peas (fresh or frozen)

·       1 onion, chopped

·       1 can (400ml) chopped tomatoes

·       2 cups water

·       Optional: serve with yoghurt or pickles

Preparation

1.     Add rice, Yes! Indian Flavour Pack, chopped tomatoes, and water to rice cooker. Stir gently.

2.     Add potatoes, kidney beans, onion, and peas.

3.     Cook as normal. Let rest 5 mins after cycle finishes.

4.     Fluff rice and serve hot with yoghurt or pickles.


Want things a little more spicy! Add 1/2 tsp chilli powder, or to your taste, at stage one


⚠️ Rice Cooker Tips:


• Our recipes are tested in a standard 1.8 L rice cooker.

• Smaller or older cookers may run hotter – add a splash more water if needed.

• If your cooker tends to stick, give it a gentle stir halfway through cooking.

• Always check that food is cooked through before serving.
